The Delhi Kawad Route holds special importance for devotees participating in the sacred Kawad Yatra. Every year during the holy month of Shravan, thousands of Kanwariyas pass through Delhi while carrying holy Ganga water from Haridwar and other pilgrimage sites to offer it at Lord Shiva temples. The route is well-managed and spiritually vibrant, making Delhi a key city in this divine journey.

Major Kawad routes in Delhi include areas like GT Road, Wazirabad, Bawana Road, Najafgarh Road, and stretches near Yamuna banks. These paths are carefully planned by local authorities to ensure smooth movement, safety, and convenience for devotees. Temporary camps, medical facilities, rest areas, and drinking water stations are set up along the route to support Kanwariyas throughout their yatra.

During this period, Delhi transforms into a city of devotion, echoing with chants of “Bol Bam.” Volunteers, NGOs, and residents actively participate by offering food, shelter, and first aid to pilgrims. Traffic diversions and special arrangements help maintain order while respecting the religious significance of the yatra.

The Delhi Kawad Route beautifully reflects unity, faith, and devotion, making it a spiritually enriching experience for every Kanwariya passing through the capital city.
