The Rishikesh Kawad Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage where devotees of Lord Shiva, called Kanwariyas, collect holy water from the Ganga River to offer at Shiva temples. Rishikesh, known as the Gateway to the Himalayas, becomes vibrant with chants, music, and devotion. The Yatra usually takes place during the Shravan month (July–August), symbolizing faith, endurance, and spiritual purification along the holy Ganga’s banks.
