The Kawad (कांवड़) Yatra 2026 is a major Hindu pilgrimage observed during the month of Sawan (July–August) where devotees (कांवड़िए) carry holy water from rivers like the Ganga to offer at Shiva temples. Unlike some other pilgrimages, the specific official government registration process isn’t always as uniformly structured nationwide, but several states and local authorities do offer an organized registration/pass system to improve safety and crowd management.

💻 Online Registration:
Pilgrims can often register through the official state portal or a designated mobile app. You’ll need to enter basic details such as your name, age, address, mobile number, and valid ID proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Passport). After submitting the form and selecting your route and travel date, you receive a QR-coded registration slip/pass which you should carry throughout your journey.

🏙️ Offline/On-spot Registration:
If you do not have internet access, many towns along popular routes (especially in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar) set up offline counters where pilgrims can register on the spot using their ID documents.

📌 Keep Your Pass Handy:
Whether online or offline, always keep the registration slip/pass with you for identity checks, safety monitoring and to receive alerts about route updates or emergencies during the yatra.

If a specific state government registration portal is launched for Kawad Yatra 2026, check announcements from your local police or tourism department before you go.
