The Delhi to Haridwar Kawad Yatra route is one of the most popular pilgrimage paths for devotees collecting holy Ganga water during the sacred month of Shravan. Thousands of Kanwariyas travel on foot, bicycles, or decorated vehicles chanting “Bol Bam” as they move toward the holy city.
The journey typically begins in Delhi, passing through key towns such as Ghaziabad, Modinagar, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Roorkee, and finally reaching Haridwar. The total distance is approximately 220–230 km, depending on the chosen route.
Along the way, local communities set up free camps offering food, water, medical aid, and resting areas for pilgrims. The roads are often dedicated lanes for Kanwariyas during the yatra to ensure safety and smooth movement. Devotees collect holy water from the Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar and carry it back to offer at Shiva temples in their hometowns.
This spiritual journey symbolizes devotion, endurance, and faith, making it a deeply meaningful experience for Lord Shiva’s followers.
