shoulder-post

Kawad Yatra is a test of faith, strength, and endurance. Carrying the Kawad for long distances can put heavy stress on the shoulders, neck, and back, often leading to pain or stiffness. With the right precautions, shoulder pain can be avoided and the yatra can remain a spiritually uplifting experience.

First, ensure your Kawad is well-balanced. Uneven weight distribution is the biggest cause of shoulder strain. Both sides should carry equal weight, and the bamboo should be strong but lightweight. Using soft cloth or foam padding where the Kawad rests on your shoulders can greatly reduce pressure and friction.

Maintaining correct posture is equally important. Keep your back straight, shoulders relaxed, and avoid bending forward while walking. Take small, steady steps instead of rushing. Short breaks during the journey help relax the muscles and prevent overuse injuries.

Regular stretching before starting the walk and during rest stops keeps shoulder and neck muscles flexible. Gentle shoulder rolls, arm stretches, and neck movements are very effective. Applying pain-relief oil or spray at night can also help muscles recover.

Staying hydrated and getting proper rest ensures your body remains strong throughout the Kawad Yatra, allowing you to complete it with devotion and comfort. 🙏
